IMPORTANT:
- Devices updated to WD Cloud OS 5 cannot be downgraded to WD Cloud OS 2.

Firmware Update Steps
Please follow the steps below to update the firmware to My Cloud OS 5
- Before updating to WD Cloud OS 5, your device must be updated to Firmware 2.42.115 or higher.
- Download firmware version 2.41.118 for your WD Cloud model from the WD Support Site to your local computer
- Login to your WD Cloud dashboard as "admin" user
For assistance accessing the Dashboard, please refer to Answer ID 30214: WD Cloud OS 5: Access the Administration Dashboard. - Click Settings
- Click Firmware Update
- Click Update from File
- Browse to the downloaded firmware file
Select the firmware image file and Click Open to start the firmware update process - Click Install and Reboot and wait for the update and reboot process to complete
- Download the latest version of OS 5 Firmware for WD Cloud from the WD Support Website to your local computer
- Log into the WD Cloud dashboard

- Click Settings
- Click Firmware Update
- Click Update from File
- Browse to the downloaded firmware 5.10.122 file
Select the firmware image file and Click Open to start the firmware update process - Upgrading to OS 5... Firmware will download IMPORTANT: Do not unplug your device during upgrade installation.
- Upgrading to OS 5... Firmware will Upgrage
- Upgrade Complete. Device will reboot
- Type OS 2 password
Click LOG IN - End User License Agreement
Review the End User License Agreement Click I Agree - Create a New Password for WD Cloud OS 5
Click Next - Access from anywhere
To skip the Cloud Access Configuration, Click Skip Cloud Access
To configure the remote access, Click Continue - Create cloud account
Fill out the form and add an email address to use it for cloud account.
If the account is already created for any other device, click Sign in with exisitng WD Cloud OS 5 cloud account and Sign in to the created account. - Select the folders that you need to have remotely access to
IMPORTANT:
Selecting all the folders make indexing process longer.

To opt-in the analytics click Agree to share
Otherwise click Do not share
- Auto Update Firmware
The device will update automatically to the new firmware once it is available.
Click Yes to enable it
Click No to disable it - Almost Finished
Click Go to Apps. - Install the Apss
Click Install to install the desired app.

- Dashboard View
The device will start indexing the content when Cloud accounts are created for remote access of content in the web and mobile apps.
