- Create a backup of all the data.
- Make sure to select the correct drive letter.
All memory cards are pre-formatted and do not need to be formatted out of the box.
They are formatted as FAT32 or exFAT file systems.
SDHC/microSDHC | 4 GB to 32 GB | FAT32 |
SDXC/microSDXC | 64 GB or higher | exFAT |

- Connect the card to the computer.
- Open Disk Utility.

- Click Erase.
- Type a new Name.
(SanDisk, memory card, iXpand, etc...). - Click Format.
- Select a new Format.
ExFAT or MS DOS (FAT) macoOS FAT32. - Click Scheme.
Select Master Boot Record. - Click Erase.
- Click Done.

- Connect the card to the computer.
- Open Disk Utility.
